Strategic Planning Completed

Nevada County has completed a comprehensive strategic planning process to guide the development of the Family Justice Center (FJC). This work included a robust stakeholder engagement effort including focus groups, interviews, and a community-wide workshop, with survivors, system partners, cultural communities, and service providers. Their voices directly shaped the FJC’s priorities and design.

Take a look at the Stakeholder Engagement Executive Summary.

Community-Informed Priorities Identified

Through this process, the FJC established five core pillars that will guide implementation:

  • Survivor-centered, trauma-informed care
  • Collaborative and coordinated systems
  • Cultural, language, and identity access
  • Housing and stability
  • Sustainability and accountability

These priorities reflect what both survivors and providers identified as the most pressing gaps in Nevada County’s current response to violence.

Three-Year Roadmap in Motion (2025–2028)

Our strategic plan outlines a phased implementation timeline:

  • 2025: Finalize plan, formalize partnerships, establish governance, and begin facility design and funding work.
  • 2026: Launch the initial FJC site, begin co-location of services, and initiate data and evaluation systems.
  • 2027–2028: Expand services, publish impact reports, deepen partnerships, and build long-term sustainability.
