One safe space for survivors of violence in Nevada County
One safe space for survivors of violence in Nevada County

1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men
experience interpersonal violence at some point in their lifetime. A victim in Nevada County might need to visit over 50 entities on their journey to seek justice, healing and self-sufficiency.
What if they only had to visit one?
One safe place.
Survivors currently navigate more than 50 fragmented services across Nevada County, leading to retraumatization, confusion, and service drop-off. Local providers and survivors alike currently describe the system as a “maze, not a path”, where survivors are pass between agencies, retelling their stories repeatedly. Existing services, though strong and committed, lack centralized coordination, trauma-specific training, and stable funding. The FJC model addresses these challenges by offering co-located, multi-agency collaboration in one safe, accessible environment, where survivors can receive coordinated support without retraumatization

A community free from violence and trauma, where every individual can experience hope, dignity, and wellbeing.
